This wave keeps on rolling and it feels amazing to be riding it toward our common goal of making an impact on climate change. I love working for a company that is part of a transformative movement. This hyper-dynamic workplace is highly motivating for me. ![]() Rad is a place where we get full creative rein and I particularly enjoy coming up with new ideas and bringing a fresh perspective to each project. This trip brought lots of challenges but I pushed through and, in the end, it goes down in my book as one of my most memorable experiences! My most recent big adventure was a 16-day trekking adventure in the Rockies. I love to take on new challenges which brought me to complete many ultra-marathons in the last few years, both in British Columbia and the U.S. When I'm not at work, I am outside, either trail running, skiing, or hiking. ![]() I use it every day to come to work and I barely use my car anymore for local errands or commuting. We all have different backgrounds and experiences but we all share the same goal of offering the best experience to our customers. Since day one of my Journey at Rad, I have had the privilege of working with fun and motivated people. Then, when I started to connect with the people within the organization during the interview process, it confirmed that this was something I wanted to be a part of.įor me, the best part about working at Rad is the people, especially my teammates. It seemed like a company that was making a real difference. I was particularly impressed by the products and wanted to be part of the social shift toward a more efficient way of transportation. Honestly, I was drawn to Rad because I saw people riding the RadWagon and RadRunner in my neighborhood with huge smiles on their faces. Responsibility, Action, Diversity, Innovation, Customers, Approachable, Learners- all these things cover integral parts of what makes a company great to work for and, as a customer, the kind of company you want to buy from. Hike, bike, ski, run, camp, and test the neighboring microbrews, mostly the IPA varietals because, yes, I like pine needles!Īll of them! I think they are all important to developing the culture here and make Rad what it is. In many ways, ebikes are still an up-and-coming thing! It still gets a lot of looks and people are curious about the bike. It's just fun to not be in a car and still be able to drive all 3 kids. It’s small enough to be driven by making a difference, large enough to start making some waves. I've worked at large companies and medium-sized companies and I love this size. I like that the company is young and working to bring more standards and processes, but still prioritizes a bias to action in its core values. We get our hands dirty, not just look at things on paper - though we do a lot of that too. The people, the pace, and the hands-on product. Mike R's interview with NPR 'How I Built This' offers a good insight into who's at the helm and his longer-term vision, which I find motivating. I like working with an actual tangible product, especially since it helps get people out of cars. Not to mention, the product is just plain fun. Rad also has a mission and values that align with things I believe in. Working on new and innovative products at a fast-paced company represented a new challenge for me. It's amazing to see how well we work as a team and how each of us brings something special to the table! With people from 11 different countries in our European office, coming from all sorts of backgrounds, there is something new to learn every single day at the office. My favorite RADICAL value has to be Diverse. What is your favorite RADICAL value and why? Outside of work, I like reading, making music, practicing calligraphy, and, of course. ![]() All of our bikes are awesome, but I’m really glad I went with the RadRunner. When I came on, I got to pick out my own model. Customers that would have otherwise been in a car day in day out are now discovering that a car-free life is completely possible. The best part about working at Rad is definitely the awesome feeling of getting more and more people on bikes each day. What is the best part about working at Rad? It turned out to be a great decision, and I’m thrilled to be here growing with the company! The job opening at Rad Power Bikes seemed like a good fit for me and a path I definitely wanted to explore. My past few jobs have involved bikes in one way or another, from owning a small online bike shop to being a bike courier. ![]()
